Sometimes in life, for whatever reason, we get somewhat “stuck” and might find it hard to overcome this. We might feel like we are struggling to function “normally” or maybe things just don’t feel quite “right”. Maybe it’s difficulties at work or at home that are preventing us from getting the most from our lives or it might be struggles with previous experiences that are making it hard for us to move forward. Whatever it is, whether we think it’s major or trivial, Counselling can often be a great source of support.

Counselling is a professional service where you talk, in confidence, to a qualified therapist about your difficulties. Sessions normally last around an hour and in that time you are always at the centre of what we do, so you can explore and reconcile what is going on for you through the use of traditional talking therapies. At IPT we aim to create an environment where you can be yourself, without judgement and we work hard to see you as the individual that you are. We apply our theoretical knowledge, skills and interventions in a way that ensures your therapeutic experience is tailored to your needs.

We are humanistic in our approach however our philosophy is rarely without the theories and interventions of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and the Human Givens approach as well as others.

The cost of Counselling ranges although most individual sessions are charged at £40 per session. We may be able to offer some discounts depending on your circumstances i.e. student, unemployed and we also offer couples Counselling. For more information contact us.
