Understanding and working with Trauma

On the approach to the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 there have been many documentary’s reporting the recognition of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after treating so many returning military with symptoms little understood at that time. A major step forward you would think; though here we are 100 years on and PTSD is still often un-diagnosed and misunderstood by both the sufferer and the helper.
IPT Training and Therapy are running a one day training on Understanding and Working with Trauma on Saturday November 24th at our premises in Darlington, Co-Durham.
You will learn how to recognise the symptoms of trauma whatever their cause; explore a range of treatments; develop a structured way of working through trauma, or signpost to the appropriate source if you are not a therapist.
A next step for therapists would be to train specifically in the two day Rewind technique coming up on 23rd of February and 9th March 2019.
So much can be done to alleviate the distress that PTSD can cause, this could be the opportunity to make a difference.
